Yellowstone Wolves: The Years offers a comprehensive overview of wolf populations within Yellowstone National Park, providing up to six years of annual snapshot data on wolves, packs, and territories. The application is available free of charge for the 2019 dataset, with optional in-app purchases granting access to data from 2020 through 2024. This expanded dataset introduces functionalities not available with the initial version, such as integration with Yellowstone SPOTR to correlate packs and pullouts.

For the 2019 dataset, users can utilize the following features:

• Map: Displays the locations of wolf packs, allowing selection and visualization on an interactive map.
• Details: Presents key information about selected packs and individual wolves. Additional details can be accessed by tapping icons at the top right of the screen, which include Wolf Statistics, Search Results Totals along with criteria, and Pack Summaries with legends. The Details icon at the bottom provides an overview for all packs.
• Search: Enables filtering based on specific criteria, such as collar status or coat color, to locate particular groups of wolves or packs within the dataset.
• Graph: Offers graphical representations of various collected statistics for analysis and comparison.
• About: Contains explanatory content, legends, descriptions, and contact information, including guidance on participating in the wolf restoration efforts led by the Yellowstone Wolf Project.

Users can purchase additional years through the app’s Catalog feature and navigate by selecting specific years using the Year Choice function. All existing functionalities extend to these additional datasets. Integration with Yellowstone SPOTR also allows users to identify potential wolf pack sightings from specific pullouts, enhancing field observation capabilities.

Furthermore, once in-app purchases are completed and the content is downloaded, Wi-Fi connectivity is no longer required for ongoing use of the app.
